Union Trust Wedding

Tie the knot in a wedding venue that has seen genuine Philadelphia history, and has become one of the most elegant pieces of architecture in town. The idea of staging one of the most romantic days of my life in a bank, somehow feels a little strange to me. I mean, I guess the image that this idea conjures up is of me, my partner and an officiant conducting our ceremony in the middle of a busy Wells Fargo. With many disgruntled customers watching on in bemusement as we exchange our vows, and declare our love next to racks of pamphlets offering deals on life insurance. Doesn’t sound dreamy to me! But thankfully, the truth is very much different. And in reality, there are many old banks built before the turn of the century that were designed to be architecturally stunning. Grand, luxurious landmarks that stood as the new modern church for each of their respective cities. One such place is the illustrious Union Trust, a newly renovated wedding venue and event space in Philadelphia.

The Union Trust Wedding Venue

Nestled in the heart of the Historic District of Philadelphia sits the Union Trust Wedding Venue, one of three spaces run by the talented group Finley Catering. Built back in 1888, this glamorous old building was once a Union Trust Company Bank (as the name suggests), but is now one of the chicest celebration spaces in town. With 60 foot high ceilings, impressive balconies, and super elegant decoration – it’s no wonder this venue has become so popular.

A Perfect Blend of Antique, and Modern

One of the first things you notice about this breathtaking room is its scale. The soaring ceilings are so dramatic, and the intricate arched windows and extensive lighting only further this sense of never-ending space. The elegant decor is cohesive throughout the four event spaces available at the Union Trust Wedding Venue, and there are rooms available for both ceremonies and receptions. The ballroom is the main celebration space, and this can hold up to 190 guests over two floors. If however, you’re planning a more intimate affair, there are of course other smaller rooms available. As well as get-ready rooms and refined areas to host cocktail hour.

I have seen their professional catering company ease the stress of the big day planning process on many an occasion. And my clients have loved being able to enjoy the whole entire experience of getting married, without sweating the small stuff that arises during any big day. Alongside their planning services, Union Trust also offers a variety of amenities, such as wedding day setup and takedown, professional lighting and sound, and the all-important wedding cake. They can also provide chairs, tables, a dance floor, drapery, and a chocolate fountain. This is perfect if you’re trying to cut down on the number of vendors you’re working with.
