Picturesque views from a sophisticated lakefront wedding venue in Mercer County Park, New Jersey. Is there anywhere more romantic than a lakefront boathouse for a wedding? If you answered, “no Kartheek, there is nowhere more romantic, in fact, that’s my dream big day scenario!” – then your wedding venue search is over, I have found the New Jersey location for you. Introducing, The Boathouse at Mercer Lake, a newly renovated wedding and event space overlooking the lake and gardens of Mercer County Park. This is the place to wed if you are a couple who loves the outdoors because this is a venue that celebrates its privileged location by making the most of its outside space and amazing views.
A plethora of pretty photo spots and beautiful scenery
If you’ve visited Mercer County Park, you’ll know just how beautiful it is and how breathtaking their lake is to behold, any time of year. The 10 acres of the park are a paradise of lush greenery, sprawling manicured lawns, and a bountiful selection of vibrant flowers. As a backdrop for your wedding photographer, the park and The Boathouse at Mercer Lake is pretty hard to beat, even in New Jersey, a state known for its beautiful scenery. For us wedding photographers, this park is a goldmine of pretty photo spots to shoot your special moments. From first look shots behind the trees to candid photography of your bridesmaids as they prepare to walk down the aisle to portraits of you both as you look out across the lake. There’s vibrancy everywhere and tranquility all around.
The humble wedding gazebo elevated to another level at The Boathouse at Mercer Lake
“But Kartheek, enough already about wedding photography, where will I tie the knot at The Boathouse at Mercer Lake!?” Well, this is my favorite part, a gazebo in the park! It’s so dreamy, so charming and if you’re a couple, longing for a little bit of fairy tale on your big day, this is for you! Just imagine gliding down the aisle, and your path is lined with overhanging trees full of autumn hues, pretty flowers scenting the air and lake all around you softly sound-tracking your journey to the altar. Doesn’t that sound just perfect? And imagine your wedding photography! The Boathouse at Mercer Lake has taken the humble wedding gazebo, and elevated it to something magical!
A modern setting surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens
Once you’ve exchanged your vows, it’s time to toast to your forever happiness and begin the celebrations! And for this, we’re hitting the deck and sipping special wedding day cocktails on The Boathouse at Mercer Lake patio. A large, modern balcony that extends around the boathouse and often spills out to ground level, depending on group size. It is a delightful spot to enjoy a glass of something cool on a warm day, and enjoy the ever-so pleasant views of the lake, and landscaped park beyond. After all that toasting and congratulating, however, your guest’s mind’s may turn to food, and at The Boathouse at Mercer Lake, you have two wedding reception options.
The choices available very much depend on your group size, as The Cove Room has a capacity of around 40 people. And so it is perfect for an intimate affair, or micro-wedding, but not for anything larger. Whereas the Lakeside Ballroom can host up to 250 guests comfortably and elegantly. It is a popular choice, not just because of its size, but because of the modern equipment available to you. During the recent renovations to the wedding venue at The Boathouse at Mercer Lake, the team installed a state-of-the-art lighting system, dropdown LED projector, and a brand-new dance floor. Essentially all the amenities you need to create one heck of a party. And not only that, but the ballroom is also blessed with a 19-foot high vaulted ceiling and huge windows at both ends of the room, so not only do you get an amazing feeling of space, but you’ll also never feel far from a beautiful view of the lake.
