Getting Married at the Mallard Island Yacht Club

With wedding planning comes the pressure to navigate towards choices about location, ceremony, reception. Where in New Jersey to perform the ceremony, in which venue to hold the reception, does the venue have enough space for preparations, guest accommodation? Questions keep popping in your head and that is the last thing you want, anxiety, while you should feel joy while planning the details of your wedding!

But, what if I tell you that you can have it all, the whole package just in one venue? The ceremony, reception, incredible accommodation for those guests that come from distant places, even an astounding bridal suite that is perfect to live your fairytale wedding day!? A destination wedding venue experience on the Jersey shore, literally waiting on your doorstep?

It is my professional habit as a photographer to immediately scan every detail of a venue and visualize every shooting point, but when I entered the Mallard Island Yacht Club, I was taken aback. I was literally overwhelmed by all the beauty gracing this eloquent venue. From mesmerizing gardens to the opulent interior, from landscapes that entwine with the sparkling Barnegat Bay to the waterfront that offers movie-worthy sunsets. Yes, there are places that when you get there you think: this is beautiful, I can work my magic here; but in this case, this venue worked its magic adorning my mind with countless artful visuals!

Why I Love the Mallard Island Yacht Club 

Set west of Long Beach Island and surrounded by the picturesque Barnegat Bay, the Mallard Island Yacht Club wedding venue will enchant you with its beautiful waterfront views with every step you take. It is perfect for couples who seek luxury that embraces both the romantic and the elegant. It is hard to choose what I love most about it, whether the Boathouse Chapel, the outdoor plaza modeled in the likeness of Gothic architecture; the Grand Ballroom, or the luxury penthouse. In any case, this New Jersey wedding venue is guaranteed to bring any bridal dream come to life.

When you arrive, crisp ocean breeze, green lawns, white picket fences will soothe your senses. This peaceful scenery sets the tone for the overall feel of this estate. If your heart desires serene landscapes, intimate celebrations infused with romance; you will immediately feel at home.

The Penthouse

The staff are incredibly diligent, kind, and will tend to your every need. They truly take care of each and every one of your guests! Oh and that puts it to mind, the Mallard Island Yacht Club wedding venue has accommodation for 24 guests with luxury amenities, but the “Crown Jewel” is a refined lush 3000 sq foot bridal penthouse that occupies the entire 4th floor. You can spend your bridal preparations there, getting all taken care of in the in-suite salon and spa-like rainfall shower! Rest the night before and spoil yourself on a king-sized bed and floor-to-ceiling window views gazing upon the bay horizons. They didn’t forget about the groom, oh no. The groom’s shack, as they call it; is a restored army barrack that offers a historic aesthetic which will nudge the groom and his best men to do some serious pre-wedding mingling and story sharing!

The Wedding Ceremony

The Boathouse Chapel is where the magic begins to unravel. Just imagine, grand stone fireplace, bay views all around, candlelight ambiance, and you two exchanging vows in front of your loved ones! A dream right? The charming chapel will sweep you right off your feet!

Do you prefer an outdoor alfresco ceremony? Say no more! Step onto the flower bordered lush lawn and say your “I do’s” under the warm sun against a backdrop of water and blue skies. This outdoor plaza with stunning arches and ornate ceilings will transport you to another time with its old-world charm. A medley of Gothic detailed artistry, ocean air, and sunsets to die for! It is also perfect for cocktail hour, appetizers, and the usual – sharing the joy of being just married with your loved ones.

The Ballroom

After you’ve tied the knot, it is time to reach the peak – the celebration! Continue to the reception with your (up to 300) guests into the grandiose elegant Ballroom. This lavish space features a Tiffany Blue ceiling, detailed woodwork, French doors, and a dramatic atmosphere completed with an atrium. The bay views all around are the cherry on top! Inside can be seated 250 guests that will enjoy this scenic Ballroom. The romantic lighting will be the perfect setting tone for your first dance, and as the guests join you, dance the night away as husband and wife!

To portray this incredible beauty of this New Jersey wedding venue and capture the joy of your wedding, you will need a photographer like me who knows this place inside and out. On the plus side – we can sneak off in between happenings to do intimate, raw, and beautiful photos of your new chapter in life! I believe that any time of day is perfect for a photo session here, but sunset time and the golden hour has my heart!
