A breathtaking private club venue with seaside charm, elegance, and endless panoramic views. You don’t have to be a salty sailor or a seasoned yachts-person, to fall in love with the timeless glamour The Avalon Yacht Club Wedding venue offers those seeking to host their wedding within its glorious surroundings. The club was built in the 1940s by some thirsty sea-goers who just wanted somewhere to sit down and have a drink’ and ‘take our wives to dance’, but it soon became much more, and by the 1950s was hosting championship regattas and had champion sailors as members. Without losing any of its seaside charm, the Avalon Yacht Club was rebuilt in 1998 in order to maintain its majesty and create what is now one of the most sought-after wedding venues in New Jersey. As a wedding photographer, I’m blessed to have shot here a few times, and I never get tired of donning my sailor’s cap and climbing aboard this very special New Jersey landmark.
If like me, your dream wedding is one that is perfectly planned, pleasantly located, and ends with you sipping cocktails on a deck gazing at the stars, then I might have just found you ‘the one’! This gorgeous venue overlooks the Atlantic Ocean and is located in the historic Cape May, only 45 minutes from Atlantic City – meaning the spot makes the ideal weekend wedding location, especially when you consider all the gorgeous hotels in the surrounding area. The privileged location of The Avalon Yacht Club offers some of the most beautiful, unobstructed panoramic water views I have ever seen and relaxing on the deck with an evening drink is a magnificent spot to watch the sunset.
Weddings at The Avalon Yacht Club are hosted during the Spring and Fall seasons, but not during the months of July and August, as this venue is still a functioning yacht club, and that is their Summer sailing season. Aside from during those months, The Avalon Yacht Club is available all year round for weddings of any size, from extravagant celebrations with live bands and endless champagne, through to intimate affairs that soak up the serene seaside setting. The backbone of this gorgeous venue is its experienced team, with many of the executive chefs and managers working for the Avalon Yacht Club for over 20 years – so you know your wedding is in safe hands. I’ve seen for myself just how professional these guys are, and as a wedding photographer in New Jersey you can imagine how many venues I’ve visited, but the team at The Avalon Yacht Club are on another level. Trust me.
This is one of those New Jersey wedding venues that can host your wedding inside or out depending on the weather, and both options are simply stunning! If the warm sun is out you can tie the knot on the pretty north deck, or if you’ve opted for a cooler time of year to marry, then they have a wonderful indoor balcony that is just as picturesque. If you’re planning on getting hitched at The Avalon Yacht Club, you’re probably booking this wedding venue for its views. And that’s why their on-site event manager will not only take care of your entertainment, flower arranging, wedding cake, etc – but they’ll also plan your reception around the exact time the sun sets. Meaning a talented wedding photographer like me can swoop in and capture the most beautiful pictures of your big day during the golden hour, with the best of New Jersey nature as your backdrop.
The ballroom of the Avalon Yacht Club really is the icing on the cake for this super elegant New Jersey wedding venue. With high ceilings, acres of space for multiple reception seating styles, and more windows than walls! This is a room that is always bright, airy, and begging to be filled with partying friends and family. The ballroom really comes into its own when the sun is high in the sky, as its light fills the room with the warmest glow and really sets the stage for the nighttime celebrations. Then as night falls, and the party is in full swing, your guests can float between ballroom and decking (cocktail in hand), all while watching the twinkling stars glistening over the Atlantic…
